This week's prep events altered by Isaac

Due to the possibility of Tropical Storm Isaac affecting the area, several local schools have announced changes for its football games and volleyball matches this week.

Lafourche Parish public and parochial schools will be closed through Wednesday. Terrebonne Parish schools are also closed today, but School Board officials are unsure on if school will reopen on Tuesday.

Douglas said that no makeup dates have been decided on for the volleyball matches.

Douglas also said that Friday's football game at Ponchatoula has been moved to Sunday. He anticipates the game will be played in the evening.

The Louisiana High School Athletic Association allows high school football teams to play games on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

South Lafourche coach Dennis Skains said Friday's home game against Destrehan has been postponed, but no official make-up date has been announced.
